City Island Restaurant

With a projected spring 2015 ground-breaking, this waterfront restaurant with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, will be the newest addition to City Island’s vibrant restaurant scene.  As project architect, EMWPC is the lead consultant and is responsible for architectural design and coordination as well as environmental analysis and all regulatory approvals.

The two-story restaurant will incorporate many “green” features including photovoltaics and a green roof.  In addition, the site development will use ecologically sustainable landscape design practices such as permeable pavements and a bio-retention pond to help control stormwater runoff.  The shoreline will feature a protected tidal wetlands intertidal zone enhanced with native plant species.  The restaurant and site development will also feature resilient design and flood resistant features consistent with post-Sandy guidelines.
